Subject: PHP error using the mail function.
Hello.
I have been trying to get the package known as
DVDdb (at freshmeat) to work with my SuSE boxes.
Unsuccessfully tho.
The package uses the mail function in php to send mail
to administrators and users at certain points such
as account creation.
All that happends when DVDdb tries to send a mail is,
Dec 7 13:53:29 artemis sendmail[5401]: eB7CrTs05401: SYSERR(nobody):
Can't create transcript file ./xfeB7CrTs05401: Permission denied
Dec 7 13:53:29 artemis sendmail[5401]: eB7CrTs05401: SYSERR(nobody):
Cannot create ./dfeB7CrTs05401: Permission denied
Seems like php wants apache to create the queue files in the sendmail
mqueue directory, which is owned by root. Apache is beeing run as
the user nobody.
I have tried this on two different SuSE 6.3 boxes, same error on both.
Strange thing is that the author of the package and more ppl doesnt
get the error msg.
I have specified the sendmail path with -t as syntax in php.ini.
Even tried to chown the mqueue dir to nobody to see if that would work,
then sendmail totally went berserk and I had to reset everything to
its previous settings.
Any thoughts on this, is it errors that have to do with SuSE's
directory settings or such ?
Thankful for help,
Per Eriksson
