I finally went to the Sourceforge FTP site & d/l the file Clayton recommended, and it adds the servers w/o issue. I would still like to get the problem w/'make' figured out, however. -- ...CH Avoid doing business with 'The Link' ISP. SuSE Is All U Need Linux user# 313696 Linux box# 199365
why don't you use mldonkey/mlnet and kmldonkey as frontend. It even comes with SuSE 9.0, you can install with yast, or download the latest versions. From my experience it is better / more stable than amule / xmule. However I switched to gift / apollon, which gives you kazaa but not emule. It does not grab the NIC and block all other traffic to the internet, now I can check my emails and browse without stopping downloads. I would never go back to amule / xmule. It is too annoying to stop them everytime I want to browse or check emails. (And yes, I tried slowing them down using their config files, didn't help much) HTH, Matt On Sunday 21 March 2004 02:18, C Hamel wrote:

HTH, Matt
Actually, I am using both mldonkey & xmule. I have xmule working on a virtual terminal/desktop --I'm not exactly familiar w/the terms, here-- and mldonkey is running on the main KDE desktop. Xmule only uploads & mldonkey does both u/l & d/l. Since I have a relatively good connection it doesn't bother that much for what browsing I have to do or getting e-mail. If I need extra bw I kill the mldonkey & let xmule keep on keepin' on. As for slowing down the works, I seem to have somewhat of a handle on that, so the u/l don't kill me. I agree that xmule is difficult to control ...but mldonkey doesn't seem to be all that difficult to set a u/l lid. Wish I could get hold of broadband, though. Not offered in the park, and the cable company is giving me the run-around --even w/the park owner's permission for cable. :-\ - -- ...CH Avoid doing business with 'The Link' ISP.
