[SLE] 6.4 stuff...
Hi, Just got 6.4 - Fantastic product but a couple of problems:- o YaST now acts funny (events seem to be triggered late) on the package selection - not a real problem, but it departs from what normally goes (since version 6 AFAIK). Could be vesafb installation mode? o Where's blender gone? I couldnt find it. I assume that it's gone because of licensing problems and that you have to down it from http://www.blender.nl/ ? o SaX blows (X actually blows) with the error: "No Valid Modes Found...". This could be the hardware here - but I want to see if anyone else has the problem. I used XF86Setup. The chipset is a SMI LynxE on a cacky HP laptop. Slackware works ok on it with Xfree86 3.3.6 so I assume thats a SaX problem. o I spilt coffee all over my nice SuSE T-shirt :( Thanks and any ideas about any of this lot (apart from the shirt - thats in the wash :) Chris. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Yes, this is intentional. The main reason is, that you can change the status of a package as often as you like (e.g. because you marked it as delete instead of reinstall) and YaST will only report when you indicate that you're done by moving on.

Right on the spot. This is exactly why we had to leave it off the CD :(

Here's a suggestion for the next release: include somewhere a list of software you would like to have included but couldn't because of licensing issues, together with links such as the one cited above. There already is one in the SDB, like for every other release: http://sdb.suse.de/sdb/de/html/why-not-64.html Still in German, but it will be translated soon. there seem to be more bugs in Netscape from 6.4.
