Since 9.1 is no longer supporting adaptec(dtp) 2100 raid cards(per advanced support). I'm now looking for another hardware scsi solution. I've benchmarked the 3ware IDE raid, scis software on adaptec 39160 only to be disappointed. I've been through the supported hardware database and now looking for someone that has 9.1 working wih a scsi hardware raid solution. Any suggestions.... thanks...joe

I am using this card in a Proliant ML330. You can check either CDW's or Insight's site for more specs. Currently running raid 5 with three disks.

We are using an Intel SRCU42L RAID controller on a Tyan 2880 motherboard. I have no benchmarks but my subjective experience is that it screams. We use SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8. We tried early on to get the embedded SCSI/RAID (takes a daughter card) on the Tyan 2882 to work, but it was never stable with SLES 8 and we did not get good support from either Tyan, Adaptec (daughter card maker) or SuSE. The SRCU42L is supposed to be on their supported list. I had never considered Intel for SCSI/RAID but certainly will in the future. It is not cheap, somewhere between $500 and $600. - Richard
