In another thread currently running on this group, some say XDMCP is insecure and ssh -X is preferred, however, all I've read in my time emphasises that the protocol is secure
XDMCP doesn't care about encryption and so everything you type (web passwords, ...) travel unencrypted over the network. I hope this will be addressed by X developers soon. -- A.M. It's a pity this wasn't tackled before. Hopefully the X.org guys will see to it. Regards Sid.
