It comes part of the standard SuSE installation now, and you just compile your ada with 'gcc' (assuming you have the correct extension). Hello....I have downloaded the sources for Gnat last night, but said that it needed GCC 2.8.1. Since my SuSE 7.1 distro only has the sources for GCC 2.9.5?? I still tried it.
I followed the so-called instructions, and moved the ada sources to the top-level directory of the GCC sources.
But after that, things got a bit hazy, I tried applying *.diff patches, using the "ada.dif" file, which I assumed worked.
I don't know....what help can you give me?? I downloaded the gnat 3.1p (the latest version).
If you could give me a step-by-step approach to compiling this, I'd be really happy.

Ahh, the University was right, my Ada knowledge really is useful :-) Here's an excellent resource, the Ada Linux Team: http://www.gnuada.org/alt.html
They offer binary RPMs for all the Ada resources you could need, and they just happen to build them on a SuSE 7.2 box (never had a problem installing any of them on my 7.1 machine). The goods are right here: http://www.gnuada.org/rpms313p.html
For anyone just starting out or curious about Ada, I've got to recommend The Big Online Book of Linux Ada Programming: http://www.vaxxine.com/pegasoft/homes/book.html
Glad to see I'm not the only person left writing beautiful code!
