which which booted successfully.) Has anyone experienced this problem with 8.1 or know how to solve it? Thanks very much for your help!
Hi Dom,
I had something similar when I installed 8.1 .. basically, I let the SuSE install choose a video mode for X during the setup and it ended up using an unsupported modeline which my monitor couldn't handle.
Dunno if this is what you're seeing exactly ..
I re-installed and manually set the display to 1024 x 768 along the way, everything was OK after that.
If you don't fancy a re-install, I guess you could try moving your XF86Config file out of the way and letting SaX2 create a new one for you. At least, I assume SaX2 can generate a config file from scratch ..

Thank you sir! That may well be my problem. I will re-install 8.1 and modify the graphical settings if necessary. Dom -- ______________________________________________ http://www.linuxmail.org/ Now with POP3/IMAP access for only US$19.95/yr Powered by Outblaze
