Run-levels and lilo?
We all know how to specify a run level at the lilo boot prompt. It there any way to place this into /etc/lilo.conf on a per entry basis? I know just entering the number on the command line is pretty easy but I do have a requirment to just be able to arrow down to a lilo entry and hit return and it go to a predetermined run-level. It this possible? Sample lilo.conf example?? Note that it does not work image = /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.16 label = no-xf86 root = /dev/hda3 initrd = /boot/initrd-2.4.16 append = "3" This is just an example of what I'm looking for. It does not work.. image = /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.16 label = linux-2.4.16 root = /dev/hda3 initrd = /boot/initrd-2.4.16 Thanks and regards -- Mark Hounschell dmarkh@cfl.rr.com

Duhhhh!! It does in fact work if you uncomment the append line before you run lilo. Sorry -- Mark Hounschell dmarkh@cfl.rr.com
