there was some problems with belgian keyboard in SuSE-8.2. To solve these problems i modified ~/.Xmodmap filedescribing your keyboard under X. Some days ago, a friend say me it's possible to solve for all local users modifing /etc/X11/xkb/symbols/pc/be (for you i think .../pc/pt ). Idon't try this modification now. Hello You can change that by going to control center, regional & Acessibility, keyboard layout, then choose your language and select the right keyboard layout. PS.
