Anyone know how to get mozilla to like Java 2? Actually, looks as though java is whacked on my system, any quick remedies? I always seem to break it. So much so I now hate Java. Matt

An alternative way to install it is to go to http://java.sun.com and download the JDK 1.3.0_01 for Linux and install it (I suggest in /usr/lib and symlink /usr/lib/java to it. Then do ln -s /usr/lib/java/jre/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so $MOZILLA_HOME/plugins/. Then restart Mozilla. Works for me. -- Rachel

isn't it on the Suse 7.0/7.1 disks? I have the sun and the ibm java
versions as well as the "green threads" version that Suse 7.0 seems to
prefer ....
OF course, at the moment I am using w2k for mail, as I somehow srewed
up my entire java setup and my email client is a java client I should
have known better than to touch any of it , .
Its on the disks, but did not seem to work for me either. I am not put blame on anywhere. Actually, I am, and its at Sun :-). If Java was fully open we would not have this problem. Its now up to them to make it work better, but they probably do not care. Anyway, going to see about installing a later version of glibc....I am crazy now hehe. Thanks, did not work for me yet. I get a glibc error of all things. Matt PS Two days I will recieve SuSE 7.1 thank god hehe. I have never had any luck with installing java, is it meant to be this hard? I keep thinking its Sun's way of saying "Huh, Linux is too hard". On Mon, 26 Feb 2001 08:23:53 Rachel Greenham wrote:
