What about in Gnome? I'm trying to figure out how to ADD startup applications.

In GNOME, go to Control Panel -> Sessions and add/remove your startup apps. Also, if you use the Computer menu, you can right click on any app (both in the menu and in the application explorer) to add/remove. You can do it very easily with gnome-session-properties tool.
That did the trick! Thanks!
Cheers!

How did you put them in? I right-clicked on an app and selected "add to startup programs". There is no right click "remove from stratup programs. I use gnome and should have stated that in my email. Sorry. I did get them removed by control

If you right-clicked and added an app to startup program, you should be able to right click on that same app again and say Remove from Startup programs. Don't you get that option?
