You can use gimp to capture a window or the screen. It works fine. Christophe -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

In GNOME, tapping your "Print Screen" key should capture the entire desktop. Save the file when prompted then right-click and select to open with the GIMP so you can crop it. hth & regards, Carl -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I use the "print screen" key. Try wiith alt or control, it modifies what it takes. To capture the borders perhaps you need to take the entire screen, and then cut the window using gimp. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. sheese! with ksnapshot (which under kde is launched with the print screen key) you just click "New Snapshot", then click and drag to select exactly what you want -- new in kde4 you have to hit enter after the drag -- then you select "Save As" to write it wherever -- lots easier than cropping with gimp surely gnome has similar functionality -- doesn't it? sc -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Sheese! ;) It's a lot easier than that. Set the Capture Mode to Window Under Cursor (this means the window under the cursor when the timeout expires or when you press Enter, for a 0 timeout) then check the Include Window decorations, lots easier than pixel-perfect dragging. Unless you have a 640x480 20" screen. Now we need a 'include desktop effects' checkbox too to get the drop shadow... The problem is that the window decoration for ONE window do not show up in the image captured. Does anyone have this problem? -H -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Try this cmd: gnome-screenshot --interactive Works for me - you can even add it as a shortcut to your desktop/panel. Please, next time, use "http://picpaste.com" instead of attaching, or an equivalent service. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. You can use the 'Grab a selected area' option [1] in the above cmd/launcher.
