[opensuse] How to make a bootdisk for 11.0
G T Smith advised me after K3b trials: growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd=openSUSE-11.0-DVD-i386.iso Thanks!! It burned all bytes perfectly, but I could not boot neither my laptop nor my desktop. Should I have used -J or -R options or first -Z /dev/dvd=/dev/zero to to avoid the remark 'dvd already carries isofs' ? This is exactly the command you need to burn an image to a disk. Now, as you say you tried k3b as well (I did not read the other thread), a few questions (as I said, I did not read the other thread): 1. Did you check the md5sum of the iso file to see if it is complete? 2. Is booting from that device enabled in BIOS? Can you boot other dvd or cd - knoppix, damn small linux, Universal Boot CD, etc?
