Hi all I can mount DOS floppies easily on my machine, but Mac floppies give me a "Cannot determine file type..." sort of answer. If I do 'mount -t hfs /dev/fd0 /floppy' then I get a "Only root can do that..." error. Root can mount it OK. How can I mount the floppy as a normal user? TIA jalal Oh, and I do have a /etc/filesystems with hfs in it. -- GPG fingerprint = 3D45 5509 D380 26A4 523E A9D8 A66A 5F38 CA43 BB0E

Add the user option to /etc/fstab /dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto noauto, user, sync 0 0 -- Mads Martin Jørgensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort?" -- A. P. J.

Add another line /dev/fd0 /macfloppy hfs noauto, user, sync 0 0 create the dir /macfloppy and use "mount /macfloppy" to mount the mac floppies Anders
