Spammers now are sending random text and html, with the real payload in a gif image. Whereas spam emails used to have 5..10 KiB, now they have 20..50 KiB. I have seen some that obfuscate the graphic with what I think must be "tempest" fonts or techniques so that OCR of the image will fail, and it will be passed by antispammers analyzing the images. It's a war :-( I have lost email communication with a relative overseas due to malware and spam crashing her computer as soon as she plugs it. A friend repairs it, it goes down in less than a month. I can't go there and install linux, too far. Damm :-/ (sorry)
notice that friends with new 8Mpix cameras are not bas as well... but this is OT :-)
Worst offenders are people using outlook from a company account. Network is no expense! So they send HUGE presentations to a hundred friends. But yes, it is OT. Absolutely. However, even for small things, I feel it is better to upload somewhere, so that those people that want to see it, do so manually. Alternmatively, send directly on request to some people.
That's just wrong. Some folks are still dialup attached (I know hard to believe) and an attachment that size is just plain rude to those folks. IMO So the list server needs some sort of final filter to prevent the abuse.
Not that hard. I was on dial up till recently, and I may have to use it again ocasionally. I have friends with no internet at all during the week till they return home, and then, dialup. Those of us with some kind of adsl, cable, broadband, etc, are really fortunate. Posts to the list have got to be limited in size. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Again, I'm sorry about my mail, which went into Suse mailing list, instead of the person I originally wanted to send the mail. Of course I understand, that you guys are annoyed in particular because this is already the third time that it happened to me. The problem is, that in KMail I've set a mail filter, which should set the reply-to fields of the mails of this mailing list to opensuse@opensuse.org. However, somehow this is messed up and set the reply-to fields of all my emails to opensuse@opensuse.org and that's how my private mails come into the list. Maybe someone can give me some assistance in fixing it? regards Samir -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
