Hi all, I cannot connect with my parallel sacner HP 3200c. I read that in this lnk I can found some information. But do not works. http://www.buzzard.org.uk/jonathan/scanners.html Could you help me to manage (with the scanner or with the link) Thanks
Assuming no scanner was connected at install time for auto detection. modprobe should try to detect all new hardware. As root in yast2 goto hardware and look for scanner or parallel devices. and rerun the hardware detection. As you did not mention this I assume its not a very new scanner for which drivers are not yet out. CWSIV On Wed, 2004-01-14 at 11:48, alejo wrote:

My Scanner is HP Scanjet 3200c (working only in parallel)
I try "yast2 goto hardware and look for scanner or parallel devices"
But I am not able to find Paralell devices nor scanner and when I go to
detect only offer USB, net,.... but not paralell
What do you mean with CWSIV?
Thanks for your help

I have one of those beasts too, and I did get it to work a while ago. Staples was selling them very cheaply, so lots of folks got them. Can't remember exactly how I got it to work, though. One big hint: the HP 3200C is really a relabelled UMAX scanner, so the various "sane" options you need are those for UMAX. There's also a web page somewhere that lists the scanners that "sane" can handle and more or less what the methodology is. Sorry I can provide only vague memories, but the pointers might be sufficient to solve the problem. And it can be solved, I reassure you, since I've done it. Paul Abrahams
