Konqueror and frequent crashes - anybody else?
HI everybody, I noticed with KDE version 3.0 that Konqueror crashes quite frequently (and seemingly randomly) when used as a web browser. This would happen 5 or 6 times nightly (sometimes, more). The rate of crashing seems to be reduced for KDE 3.0.1. I filed bug report #43079 with the KDE people. I am curious so I'd like to start a very unofficial survey - do others see many crashes with Konqueror? Thanks, Andy -- Andy Stewart, Founder Worcester Linux Users' Group Worcester, MA USA http://www.wlug.org

Haven't been able to crash it yet, and I am still using KDE 3.0. Kevin
Haven't managed to crash mine yet either, running under kde 3.0. Mark A --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.368 / Virus Database: 204 - Release Date: 29/05/2002
yes, mine crashes all the time in 3.0...seemingly random, also. I gave up on it after the first 3 days, and switched to mozilla.

Hi Andy. I have been having the same problem since going to SuSE 8.0 professional. I have just reinstalled 8.0 and applied the 3.0.1 updates using YOU but the the problem still persists. I have installed 8.0 on several PCs with different hardware setups, and the problem exists on all of them. I have found a combination of events that always produces the crash: Go to www.suse.co.uk Click on the "Support & Download" button Click on "SuSE Linux Download" Click on "Please use a mirror-site near you if possible" Click on "ftp.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.suse.com/pub" Click on "suse" directory Click on "i386" directory Click on "update" directory Click on the "Back" button to return to the previous web page Click on the "Back" button again Click on the "Back" button again Click on the "Back" button again Click on the "Back" button one last time! Konqueror should now crash. It would be interesting to see if anybody else can produce the crash using the above sequence of events. Regards Steven.

I too get the same result here! Patrick -- --- KMail v1.4.1 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.0 ---
Hi ALL, This fails on my SuSE 8.0 KDE 3.01 system. It is up to date via YOU as of today 6/10. I have used the 'backtrace info' applet to save the backtrace info if anyone wants to have it. PeterB On Monday 10 June 2002 01:39, Patrick wrote:
