On Tue, Aug 15, 2006 05:11:13 AM -0700, jdow (jdow@earthlink.net), REPOSTED TO ALL LIST SUBSCRIBERS 67 LINES, 3+KBytes OF (OFF TOPIC) STUFF THAT ALL OF THEM HAD **ALREADY** RECEIVED, JUST TO ADD:
A MERE 3.5 LINES COMMENT AT THE VERY BOTTOM.
Joanne, and all the others with too much money and nothing better to do: please practice what you preach. Top post, bottom post, diagonal-post, whatever, but please STOP reposting the same bytes that everybody else has already downloaded. Trim as much as possible. You are making all subscribers without a flat-rate connection (**) PAY WITH THEIR REAL MONEY for your laziness. Forget RFCs, this is much more concrete and simpler. Thanks, Marco PS: Oh, since this originally was about who should reply to who on public list. *This* time I have both removed the reply-to header, and replied to all (list _and_ previous poster) ON PURPOSE: *this* time I WANTED to send it _both_ personally (faster, more effective), publicly (being a public utility reminder) and as a new thread to make sure that it would be seen even by those who are already filtering to /dev/null the original one (**) that is everybody on the planet excepted the *small* elite of geeks living in western-world areas where broadband is already offered and affordable by the majority. When they aren't on GPRS while traveling, of course. -- Marco Fioretti mfioretti, at the server mclink.it Fedora Core 5 for low memory http://www.rule-project.org/ Intellectual freedom cannot exist without political freedom; political freedom cannot exist without economic freedom; a free mind and a free market are corollaries. -- Ayn Rand, "For the New Intellectual"

Talk about Hijacking a thread! 100 post? About what? I wish you all could use your energy to either: Come with constructive replies to the original post or start your own thread and ramble on. - Preferably on a off topic list...

Some (new) people just don't know; they have to be educated. Unknowingly they step on peoples toes. Maybe they don't read the welcome message which each new subscriber gets.
Preferably on a off topic list...
That would probably be suse-ot, see http://www.suse.com/en/private/support/online_help/mailinglists/ (Yup, old url, but it still works...) BTW, does anybody know how to set the 'Follow-up:'-email header with KMail? Or was it 'Followup-to:'? Cheers, Leen
