Hi - I've just noticed that when I'm viewing a web page in Konqui and I click "view document source" emacs comes up! No disrespect to the old style Unix brigade but I don't even want emacs on my system never mind usurping the role of kate or kwrite. Even vi would be better than this! Does anyone know where I can change this setting from xemacs to kwrite? I'm using SuSE 9.0 and KDE 3.1.4 Best wishes - Ken
That would normally be done in Settings -> Configure Konqueror -> File Associations -> pick whatever the page in question resolved to and make sure you call up the application of your choice. I am actually surprised that emacs got pushed in the "advanced users" section that doesn't automatically get installed on 9.0. Come on guys, what is a linux installation without emacs. Cheers, Alex. Hi - About the (now resolved) sudden appearance of xemacs on my KDE desktop : On Saturday 08 November 2003 6:33 pm, Alex Angerhofer wrote:

No mention of xemacs anywhere in the File Association stuff. That's what made its sudden appearance all the more terrifying. And it meant there was no way to switch it off!

A less forbidding place. At least for me. Best wishes - Ken
Hi - Panic over. I uninstalled xemacs and now Kate comes up with the document source in Konqueror. Phew! For a moment I thought the clock had been turned back 20 years! Best wishes - Ken On Saturday 08 November 2003 6:23 pm, Kenneth Payne wrote:
