Hello, Eric, and, thank you for replying. I have investigated by running 'puter with the Lid off ~ Your diagnosis is right. Have done this:- _________________ Unscrewed cpu_Cooler_Fan Cleaned cooler_fan with small paint-brush Gave the fan a squirt with WD-40 lubricant. Have peeled off label covering inside fan spindle, packed it with grease, before re-covering spindle with label. have brushed dust out of heat-sink veins. The fan runs smoothly now. NO SegFaults now. Conclusion: If cpu cooler fan runs badly, or, stops, then Segmentation Faults occur, almost immediately. -- best wishes ____________ sent on Linux ___________
