[SLE] Backing Up Installation Sources
I thought the purpose of /etc was to provide a home for configuration files. A search through that whole directory tree produced nothing containing ftp.gwdg.de, my primary installtion source. Where is installation source configuration hidden? -- "All have sinned & fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg. Depends on SUSE version Felix. For 10.0 it is in file: /var/adm/YaST/InstSrcManager/IS_CACHE_0x00000001/DESCRIPTION/description in second line: =URL: ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/suse/i386/10.0/SUSE-Linux10.0-GM-Extra There is one IS_CACHE_<source number> for each source. Online update YOU would be in /var/lib/YaST2/you/youservers -- Regards, Rajko. Forgot to mention 10.1
For 10.0 it is in file: /var/adm/YaST/InstSrcManager/IS_CACHE_0x00000001/DESCRIPTION/description
I can' t believe a config file has to be so big. :-(
in second line: =URL: ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/suse/i386/10.0/SUSE-Linux10.0-GM-Extra
There is one IS_CACHE_<source number> for each source.

The file is "description" the rest is path to file. In 10.1 is organized different. Look in /var/lib/zypp/cache
