Aktion & RealPlayer Fail for Mpeg - Now What?
Tried to open a Mpeg (mpg) file with Aktion and RealPlayer, neither seems able to handle them. Did multiple Google searches and poked around the SuSE support site FAQ's, etc. Nada. Suggestions, please? Thanks! doc -- "And God said, let there be light ... "

I've not been able to play mpeg file on my linux box for some time. At least since 3.0 KDE came out, can't get these files to play on anything. I'm wondering if a lib file is broken or something. This happens to my box at work running suse 7.3, my box at home running suse 7.3 and Gentoo .13b. So it is not SuSE specific, but maybe KDE specific? A bug perhaps? -- bruce
Same problem here too, I am using Suse 8.0 b stephen harding wrote:

What file formats did you use? Cause I've got no problem with sound, mpeg files. -- bruce

My initial answer was not completely correct but I didn't know it when I sent it. Following is more correct:
messenger.mpg (http://www.palmsizemedia.com/mpegvideo.php3): no problem wg_cs_9.mpg (http://ultra.cto.us.edu.pl/pub/Multimedia/Movies/Cinema/Wallace&Gromit/): no problem f16korea1.mpeg (http://www.voodoo.cz/falcon/an/f16korea1.mpeg): NOT READABLE with noatun, kaboodle, ...; readable with Plugger 4.0 (plug-in used with Opera 6.02) Hope this helps you, -- Marc Jacobs
