Hello! I have just installed scanlogd in my suse 7.1 system. I thought it was ready to use just out of the box, but it does not look in this way. I have read the man page, I have added the lines to syslog.conf as it advices, then I tried to port scan my self from a remote machine. No portscan was detected. I am using nmap with normal timings. So, I think I am missing something obvious. What? Regards, Praise

Are you sure it got started? Look for scanlogd in /etc/rc.config, and doublecheck. To start it manually do: rcscanlogd start, and try portscanning yourself again. -- Mads Martin Joergensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort." -- A.
