Apt-Get and Yast2 Online Update?
Hi All, Can one continue to use Yast2 Online Update for security issues, alongside apt-get? I only intend to use apt-get for the servers at our colo facility, since I don't have physical access to these machines. Inquiring minds want to know :) -Bill

yes, you can, but why would you want to? If you have "security" as a source in your /etc/apt/sources.list it'll take care of the security updates. Marcel

I would say be careful, as YaST2 and Apt do manage dependencies in the same way. In any case, Apt can download all the security updates, so why bother with YaST2 in this case? - -- Thibaut Cousin E-mail : cousin@in2p3.fr Web : http://clrwww.in2p3.fr -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE9yhsrv1vqsTa1E4oRArKjAKCBKTTN/90WJ90jdcIhX43LNN/j4QCgkISk mJELtkWvN8/Q8/rWYug99xE= =tORZ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
