Replacing TeTeX by TUG TeX
I'd like to remove TeTeX from my system and replace it by the TeX distribution from the TeX User Group (TUG). I realize that the TUG distribution is itself based on TeTeX and that most components are actually the same, but I believe that the TUG distribution locates them differently (e.g., binaries in /usr/TeX/bin rather than /usr/bin). I want to do this in order to get the extra stuff that comes with the TUG distribution. The obvious way to do it would be to just remove the tetex rpm package, but that might confuse various parts of the SuSE system that depend on having TeX around (for instance, SuSEconfig does things with tetex). Is there a better, clean way? The principle here is not how to do it, but how to do it in a way that won't create a mess on my system that could be hard to clean up later. Paul
