Mine does, but still SuSE 8.1. There are no settings that I know of. It appears to take it's config from Locale ??? -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org

Farenheit is the default. If you want Celcius, use -metric or -m. Also, pressing any key toggles Farenheit/Celcius.

I have it on my desttop, but the window is quite small. I was about to ask you what your screen resolution is (thinking it might be screen related) but as I said before, it does run under WM. I did see this in ps aux: root 6167 3481 0 11:12 ttyp8 00:00:00 /usr/X11R6/bin/wmweather -s KDTW root 6169 1 0 11:12 ttyp8 00:00:00 /usr/bin/perl /usr/X11R6/bin/ wmWeather-GrabWeather KDTW root 6170 6169 0 11:12 ttyp8 00:00:00 wget --proxy=off --passive-ftp --tries 0 -q -O /root/.wmWeatherReports/KDTW.TXT ftp://weather.noaa.gov/data/ observations/metar/decoded/KDTW.TXT Which shows it going for the wx, and then after about 30 seconds it turns to: root 6167 3481 0 11:12 ttyp8 00:00:00 /usr/X11R6/bin/wmweather -s KDTW So it is sitting there doing it's thing... unless for some reason it didn't get the weather but there were no error msgs. Yes, according to the man page, the default update is 15 minutes. You wouldn't see any change for some time. This indicates to me that it is started and is minimized. I can start it and <alt><tab> cyclt to it and raise it. <alt><mouse> drag it to another location. On 8.2 KDE 3.1.3 I start it in console and it is invisable, but when I look on the kbar window list it is there and if I then l-click it in the list it shows up about 1/2 inch square in the far upper left corner; almost invisable since it is on top of an icon. wmweather that is. Mine did too... and I had the brilliant stroke in the middle of the night that "gee, there must be something in the control center to set items like weights, temps, measures, etc..." but I can't find anything. The interesting thing is that mine showed F too until I decided to blow away my ~/.kde directory and rebuild yesterday. And when I set up kweather on the panel, it's showing C and millibars...
