Boot from CD: I tried to add in bootloader CD and /dev/hdb which is reported to me when I give a CD into the tray. When I boot it shows me only an error about /dev/hdb + 1 What would be the right way to boot from CD as an option? I want to have an option of checking the RAM, how do I add this? logout leaves me with an empty screen. I think it is a result of a message during an update (conflict with kdebase.) I tried to use YAST again to update, but the list of all patches is still here all ticked. F1 tells me that I can omit the already installed patches in the list, however the mentioned checkbox does not exist. Any help would be appreciated. bye Ronald -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

I always define this in the BIOS, not in lilo/grub.

It should be automagically added when you install memtest86. /Per Jessen, Zürich -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

I believe that you must use the chainloader method, just like Windows or a floppy:
assuming your CD is /dev/hdb: title Boot from CD rootnoverify (hd1) chainloader +1

This is probably the bug that matches your problem: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=181218 -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
