Mates, Suse 9.0 pro. Hylafax was working. Modem fried in storm. Took modem out of box (modem was ttyS0) I now have apcupsd on ttyS0 working. How do I stop faxgetty from trying to initialize the modem? I have stopped hylafax w/rchylafax stop and chkconfig hylafax off. All confirmed, but I still get: Aug 11 18:49:32 skyline FaxGetty[1617]: Unable to setup modem on /dev/ttyS1; giving up after 2 attempts Aug 11 18:49:32 skyline FaxGetty[1617]: MODEM /dev/ttyS1 appears to be wedged Aug 11 18:49:32 skyline FaxGetty[1617]: CLOSE /dev/ttyS1 Aug 11 18:49:32 skyline FaxGetty[1643]: OPEN /dev/ttyS1 HylaFAX (tm) Version 4.1.7 Aug 11 18:49:40 skyline FaxGetty[1643]: /dev/ttyS1: Can not initialize modem.
