iF you try this from konsole: $>whereis xine Then what do you get? You'll probably get the path to the program bin file. Cheers, HÖ On Saturday 01 December 2001 23.11, Gunnar Haaland wrote:

Hi, The xine packages on the SuSE CDs are very old - 0.4.3 In the meantime -I heared just recently- there is 0.9.4 I've got 0.9.1, and this works. For starting xine I have a desktop entry called xine.kdelnk with the following contents: [Desktop Entry] Comment[C]= Exec=xine Icon=/usr/share/xine/skins/xine_logo.png MimeType= Name[C]=XINE Path= ServiceTypes= SwallowExec= SwallowTitle= Terminal=false TerminalOptions= Type=Application X-KDE-SubstituteUID=false X-KDE-Username= Cheers ... Compile from source is a little rocky on a couple packages, but once I finish those I'm gonna e-mail the maintainer with my findings. FOr instance, the aa package (xine-lib-aa) requires slang to compile, but the spec file doesn't say it does. Little things like that. I couldn't even get the xine-dvdnav to compile yet, still working on that one. Anyway, the binaries work great, grab the ones you need and install them, you'll be up an running in no time. w> w> Cheers ... w> w> Wolfi w> ================================== w> mailto:wolfi_z@yahoo.com w> w> w> -- S.Toms - smotrs@mindspring.com - www.mindspring.com/~smotrs SuSE Linux v7.2+ - Kernel 2.4.4 The moving cursor writes, and having written, blinks on.
