ls -l /dev/lp0 crw-rw---- 1 root lp 6, 0 Sep 24 03:54 /dev/lp0 If your permissions look like this, use yast or edit /etc/group directly to put your user in group 'lp', log out and back in, and start vmware. It should work now. regards Anders

One way: Start yast and go to system administration -> group administration. In the box "name of group" type lp and press enter. The box "Numeric group ID" should now have a 7 in it. tab down to "List of members" and enter the name of your user. Press f4 followed by f10. Exit yast, log out and log in again. regards Anders

There are two ways (all as root): 1.) Start yast; choose System Administration; Group administration; type in lp and write in the last field your username. Then F4 for write the new file and that was it 2.) Start your favourite text editor, open /etc/groups, search the line beginning with lp and append your username at the end of the line. In both cases, if there were already entries, append the one with a comma before it. Rene 2.)
Thanks !!!.
