I've searched the list archive, the ftp sites, and checked on the SuSE LinuKS web page...why doesn't SuSE include a how-to for users updating to KDE 3.0.1? I assume SuSE would want to maintain the usability/stability of thier product by including a small instructional page on the site. I appreciate the effort that went into providing all the rpms for KDE, but please complete the value-added process by giving users some instruction. My previous experience with KDE updates has not been so wonderful. I hope this will not be the case with SuSE. Off I go....

Have you tried the KDE site ? What I did was: 1. Go to KDE site; 2. Look for KDE 3.0.1 for SuSE 8.0 ( easy to find ); 3. Download everything from the ftp directory where the link sended me; 4. Downloaded extra language pack (ro) from another directory ( the link it's also easy to find) 5. Put all the downloads in the same directory on your disk. 6. Use GnoRPM ( it shows which rpms are to be upgraded -hint: they are blue) to upgrade the necessary rpms, most likely all of them. 7. Enjoy From what you say I guess you need steps 5-7. Try it. -- mioriticus "Well, you may look at it as evolution in action"
