I know there are people I can pay for this, but say I want to detect a given email message (say with procmail) and then use my modem to send a message to my pager. Any software available to do this easily? qpage works pretty well... you could try yaps (a SuSE package) as well, although I have no experience with that. - Herman On Wed, 3 May 2000, Bill Moseley wrote: ->>I know there are people I can pay for this, but say I want to detect a ->>given email message (say with procmail) and then use my modem to send a ->>message to my pager. ->> ->>Any software available to do this easily? ->> ->>Thanks, ->> ->>Bill Moseley ->>mailto:moseley@hank.org ->> ->>-- ->>To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com ->>For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com ->>Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/ ->> -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Qpage is excellent and very configurable.

Thanks, but I typed "PostFix and Sendmail" at my login prompt but I didn't get paged... ;) All I'm looking for right now is a simply way to send a numeric page (I have a numeric pager), thus yaps is more than I need right now. Something as simple as: echo "ATDT5551234,,911" > /dev/modem sleep 5 echo "AT" > /dev/modem But that doesn't work, of course, as I don't understand the hardware. I guess I could get minicom to do that, but it seems like overkill for this simple situation. Any other ideas?
