->Dear All,
->
->I have been using Linux-Mandrake since 7, but had some instability problems
->with 9 so decided to try Suse8. Except for the problems I am presenting I
->like Suse 8 very much so far.
->
->My printer, a HP 940c worked fine at first then stopped printing and I have
->not been able to get it going since. I was able to delete my cups then
->reinstall the printer through the control center. It did a test page just
->fine but when I tried to print from any application it would not print. When
->I tried to use ./spadmin in Open Office to set up my printer I got this
error
->message:
->
->Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
->Xlib: No protocol specified
It appears that you are logged into your machine using your user account
and trying to excute X programs as root from an xterm. If you use sux
instead of just su in order to become root then you will be able to
execute X programs while logged in as a normal user. Give this a try and
if you have more issues then keep the email coming. :)

Tell me what you believe..
I tell you what you should see.
Dear Ben,
Thank you very much for your help. Using sux instead of su made the difference
for printing and for installing realplayer. Thanks again. LM uses su.:)
I am still having trouble getting my zip configured. It is an external Iomega
parallel and this is what is in /var/log/messages:
ppa: Version 2.07 (for Linux 2.4.x)
Nov 27 02:24:06 localhost kernel: ppa: Found device at ID 6, Attempting to use

sectors (101 MB)
Nov 27 02:24:08 localhost kernel: sda: Write Protect is off

I made a /mnt/zip directory and put into /etc/fstab this line: /dev/sda/
/mnt/zip vfat users, noauto 0 0
How would I mount this exactly ?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Marcia
