Run Yast, put it your root password, goto to hardware , and put your network card (nic) in order. If you are not familiar, and you are going straight to Internet, choose the deafults and finish out. Then ifconfig or use ping. Ping www.google.com. If you see ip numbers and stuff with no loss, you are in business. You could also test with your favorite browser.
