[opensuse] any openoffice experts lurking here?
I'm trying to resolve an openoffice issue (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=498789), and have also reported it directly to openoffice.org. They got back to me and asked me to run vanilla OO3.1 - which is not really working for me. Installation etc went just fine, but when I try to start an soffice daemon: /opt/openoffice.org3/program/soffice.bin -headless -nologo -norestore -accept='socket,host=localhost,port=8100;urp;StarOffice.ServiceManager' it just hangs waiting on a futex. The openSUSE build works fine, except for the race condition in the bug report. Unfortunately I think Petr Mladek is busy elsewhere and doesn't have much time to look at it. Any wild suggestions as to why the daemon is just hanging there without listening on port 8100? /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (17.2°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks, I did try that, but it only confirmed that it was waiting on a futex :-) Anyway, see my previous posting. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (17.2°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I can't believe it - 5seconds later I'm googling a bit and come across someone mentioning a '-nofirststartwizard' flag. I add it and voila, the daemon works. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (17.2°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You can also use the info here: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Administration_Guide/... and disable the first start wizard completely on any local or remote installs (thus no need ot use the flag). Either way the result should be the same though :-) C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hehe - yeah, the opensuse packages disable this nag dialog by default... ;) Amused, -- Thorsten
