I've just arrived in SuSE-land from Red Hatsville, where I was kicked off the train at milepost 9. The SuSE 9.0 install went OK (manual X config required on my IBM 600X, however). And, as usual, wireless did not work. That's OK, I'll work on that later when I have a month or so to waste. However, somehow the user account I created logs itself on automatically. I can't figure out how to get logon to stop and ask for the userid and password. I'm presently plowing through the books, but don't see it yet. Any clues? Thanks many times. George

If you're using kdm (the default), the settings are in the KDE control centre (System Admin -> Login Manager). Go to the "Convenience" tab and deselect "Automatic login" and that should do what you need. On the KDE Control Centre go to System Adminstration --> login Manager At the bottom of the dialog box you will see Administrator Mode. Select it and enter the root password. Go to the Convience Tab and you will see Automatic Login. Deselect it and hit the Apply. -- Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------
