Hi, I'm posting here, since I don't know how mr. Mantel feels about personal mail. I like to upgrade to the latest experimental kernels in mantel/next, and in the past few versions I've noticed a problem. xmms has started 'jumping' when I switch desktops. Also, when I go to a webpage, just when the download starts there's a jump in the music. Is anyone else seeing this? k_deflt-2.4.16-21

That's funny. Why not try? I asked him some month ago per personal mail and one day later he answered friendly. So I think you could send him a mail without being hurt ;-)

I remember. If I remember correctly, here *is* indeed a problem with ALSA working together with late 2.4.x kernels. Go to the ALSA homepage, download the actual ALSA, compile it for your new kernel and it should work... I did not have this problem, because I use the kernel sound drivers instead of the ALSA stuff.
