Strange time problem relating to files.....
I just saved a file to my server (XP) and noticed that the time said 7:18am. My clock on my machine says 2:18pm and the server clock says 2:18pm. Why then when I look at the file the "last modified" time says 7:18am???? Any thoughts? TIA -- Tom Nielsen Neuro Logic Systems 1.805.389.5435 x18 www.neuro-logic.com
Do'h!!! I had the my clock set at UTC instead of "local time". On Friday 10 September 2004 02:20 pm, Tom Nielsen wrote:

I've got the correct time now on my system, but the file on the server still says modified at 7:25am and I changed it at 2:25pm. Tom On Friday 10 September 2004 02:24 pm, Tom Nielsen wrote:

I'm not sure, but notice that, in Linux, each user can have a different time zone. Then, files are archived with UTC time. When displayed, the time is corrected to the local time of the user. Asides from that, I suppose samba is involved (XP), and I don't know how samba handles times. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
