Look at eclipse (http://www.eclipse.org). It is a free development tool originally written and released by IBM. They're using it for just about everything now, it is the replacement for Visual Age for Java, and there's a ton of support from third party vendors (they just released a plugin for cobol :) Anders

I enjoy coding with PHP, and was pleased to see Yahoo making the move to PHP: http://www.php-con.com/2002/view/session.php?s=1012 and ttp://www.newsfactor.com/perl/story/19912.html

I used to happily use Homesite running on win2k to code, now I'm using a combination of Kwrite, Gnu emacs, and Quanta (on Suse 8.1). Still haven't found my ideal editor. FWIW, I'm no Linux expert - only changed from windows a couple of weeks ago. enjoy, Carl -- carl huber | wet web work | glue London
