I also tried to exclude the internal hard disk from the boot list, in hope to be able to solve the issue.
However that didn't made any difference.
While installing Fedora an option is available to change the disk order, is there something similar available in openSUSE 11 which I might have missed?
I don't recall how it was in openSUSE 10.3, but just that fact that I have it running proves that it was indeed possible.
Can anyone help in this regards please?

I had a major problem upgrading from 10.3 to 11.0 the reason being in 11.0 openSUSE recognizes hard drives in an inconsistent manner! If you have a mix of ide/sata, SCSI, or usb drives you will most likely install to one drive/partition but the system will boot looking for a *different* drive/partition. I am not sure, I just don't see an option to select sdb's MBR where I want to install grub. In Fedora and Ubuntu one can explicitly select the disk where grub needs to be installed. IIRC in Fedora one can change the hard disk order right from installer and in Ubuntu you can select the disk where you want to install grub, here in open SUSE 11 there is just no option to do that. -- Regards, Ashish "There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
I just don't understand why suddenly openSUSE has removed support for installing grub boot loader on USB hard disks. Is there is no one, who can help or give information in this regard? -- Regards, Ashish "There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

According to the above, after installing grub on "Root" of /dev/sdb I shall reboot with DVD and should select "Boot Installed System". However there is a small problem here, I didn't see *any such option* available when I booted with the DVD. -- Regards, Ashish "There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
