The opensuse 13.1 building was removed there. I think the evergreen folks plan was to end support on November 2016. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Official support for openSUSE 13.1 ended on Feb 3rd 2016 https://en.opensuse.org/Lifetime Evergreen support for openSUSE 13.1 ended in November 2016 https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Evergreen Devel project maintainers are under no obligation to build against even (official or evergreen) supported distributions, and they're most certainly not expected to build against unsupported distributions, which 13.1 now is So I'd expect it to be permanent -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

AFAICT, yes. 13.1 is past its end of life. -- Gertjan Lettink, a.k.a. Knurpht openSUSE Board Member openSUSE Forums Team -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

James, try this one instead: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/network%3A/utilities/openSUSE_13.1/ -- Per Jessen, Zürich (1.3°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Tnx. I suppose I should upgrade my systems soon. I currently have Leap 42.2 running in a VM. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Perhaps you shouldn't 'leap' all the way from 13.1 over 13.2 and 42.1 all at once. After all, 13.2 isn't EOL yet. Yes, I'm a gradualist. Easily reversible, small changes, have less entropic impact. Mind you, even though I'm running, nominally at least, 13.2, I have many additional repositories in play so thinks like my kernel, Thunderbird/Firefox, and of course Darktable (and no doubt soon systemd) are far beyond the 13.2 distribution, some beyond Tumbleweed and possibly even up there to the versions running on 42.x. Linux Mainbox 4.8.11-1.gff417d1-default #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Nov 26 18:34:47 I suspect if I naively installed 42.2 overwriting what I have it would be a step backwards in many areas. -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I've used only the "evergreen" versions for a while and so didn't go with 13.2, except to experiment.

Before I do anything, I'll back up my existing system, so that I can restore it, if needed. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I have tried the 13.1 -> 42.2 jump in a virtual machine, and it worked fine. I still have to document it. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

I'd be interested in that what you needed to do for that. I don't have 13.1. I have 13.2 still running and may want to upgrade to Leap 42.2. On the other hand, I may just fresh install and put the old drive in a caddy. Basically boot from the installation usb or dvd for 42.2, and choose "upgrade system" when asked. At one point the installer may says something about the existing install not being compatible; just ignore it. There have been some improvements, it worked very well here. But I'm waiting some weeks before doing it in real hardware, so that initial bugs are ironed out. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)
