SUSE 9.0 - Only root can mount USB memory sticks?
Hi, I am using SUSE 9.0 and I realised that I can not mount my USB memory stick as a normal user. (The whole system worked perfectly under 8.2...) Here are the simptoms: When I connect the memory stick, KDE shows the icon (/dev/sda1) on the desktop. When I try to mount it, nothing happens, only the "Mounting" window appears and stays forever. If I "su" to root and try "mount /dev/sda1" no reply at all, the command does not exit. On the other hand, if I login as root to the system, everything works perfectly. More than that, after logging out as root then logging in as a nurmal user, the memory stick starts to work perfectly! I would appreciate if someone could give me some advice, Thanks, Sandor Laza
Have you looked at your /etc/fstab file? Do you have a line for your mstick
there?

What actual commands are you using? Run them in console and paste the results here. I assume you changed no HW from 8.2 to 9.0. In 7.3 I had to do a lot of work but in 8.2 your right it works great. CWSIV On Tue, 2004-02-24 at 12:57, Sandor wrote:
