System beeps go there. To force otherwise, sometimes you have to connect a cable form the internal speaker to the sound card; sometimes I have seen a setting in the card config. I have never done neither, I prefer the internal speakers left alone for warning beeps. It makes a difference in an emergency. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFDZTPztTMYHG2NR9URAkLaAJ4+5Sk94je1gOe/TMhCeIK3U7uudQCdF0Yo yhH83EpmzF3q2ROgu/a+5oQ= =yGBA -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Hello!
Why are some sounds playing over PC Speaker in SuSe Linux 9.2. My soundcard is working correctly and I am hearing some sound over PC speaker.
Thanks.
Roland, Not to restate the obvious, but a few more details would be helpful. I mean "When does the problem occur?" "Is MPlayer running?" "Did you stick a music cd in the drive?" or "Is it that little clicking noise you hear as feedback through the speaker when you move the mouse?" Please describe what you mean by "some sounds".... -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E.
