Just a quick question tonight (at least its evening here...). I know since SuSE 6.2, the Athlon (MTRR) has been supported First, with 6.4, is the boot floppy still required? Second, I just ordered an AMD Duron 700 and Epox motherboard for around $300 US. Didn't think it was that bad of a deal, so I went ahead. I know that the Duron is based on the Athlon, though the configuration (went to socket 462) and cache (some cut out and put on die) has changed. Will SuSE 6.4 still run on one of these? AFAIK, the core did not change. Anyone got one of these fired up? Thanks for any Info! I went to Pricewatch. Found a place called componentsdirect.com. I am still waiting on confirmation of availability as they dont have online ordering, just a request form. The Duron 700 was $11 (US) more expensive than the cheapest I saw on PW, but I figured I would save that in shipping (instead of shipping from 2 different distros). Will keep you posted on what I find out. On Sun, 25 Jun 2000, you wrote:

I believe that's correct, it's virtually the same chip in many aspects

No, but it should work as if you configured based on an athlon.

Now a question from me, where did you find it? The usual places or a remote place?
