Miguel - I was able to dig up the following link which looks promising. Regarding Debian but should get you started in the right direction. For wireless, it looks like your lappy has a Broadcom :( so you might need to look to ndiswrapper or driverloader (www.linuxant.com) http://cmb.phys.cwru.edu/kisner/linux/compaq-r3000/

Yeah I was looking at ndiswrapper... looks intimidating but I think I can do it. Ethernet works fine with the laptop. Wish they went with a Compaq wireless card instead of Broadcom Thanks for link though! Im going to start reading it and see what I can come up with. Miguel, I have put together a HowTo for the Ndiswrapper for newbies. It's probably more than the others on the list would want to see. If you want I can send it to you as an attachment. It's in OOo format, pdf and html. Let me know if and how you want it. Richard
