[SLE] 256 Mb RAM - how to add it to lilo.conf?
Hello I've simply forgot how to add 256 Mb to lilo.conf. Could someone send me an example of a line in which 256Mb is present? Thanks a lot. On the top line of lilo.conf: append="mem=256M"

append="mem=256M" However recent kernel versions (2.0.36+) should be able to detect extra memory automatically! -- Never trust a man in a suit -- cll -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
Yes, this is true .. unless the bios is having issues. You might want to check for a more recent bios upgrade for your motherboard. I had issues with a Soyo board which saw 256M but after a bios upgrade it saw 64M..but was fine when I returned to the previous version. Check this out..and get back to us.

I have also had problems with the bios option "Mem hole at 16Mb".
This was used primarily for legacy devices (before my time), and
after disabling it my computer realized all of its memory.
Happy hunting.

Hello Thank you all for the help. Somehow the bios is ok and dmesg shows 256 Mb. Kind Regards Eduardo -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
