[opensuse] How-to stop/break the automatic installer?! (VMware install)
I feel stupid. I'm trying to install openSUSE in VMware workstation. No matter what I do the automatic installer takes off and installs the 'default' [default partitions, KDE, etc...] configuration. I can't get it to let *me* pick the options like it did when I installed on metal. I've told VMware that it is a 'generic' 64-bit operating system, I've started the installer in text mode, an no matter what it just takes off running. I'm installing from an ISO image of the DVD. VMware Workstation 8.0.1 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It is triggered when you define the virtual machine in vmware before booting the DVD. It happened to me in vmplayer, but I don't remember the exact name of the option you have to disable. It asks you about the username to install or the password for root or something of the sort. I suppose it is using autoyast. You have to disable it before booting the openSUSE dvd. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Tell VMware that you'll install the OS later, then it won't use the "Easy Install". Jim -- Jim Henderson Please keep on-topic replies on the list so everyone benefits -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
