Does anyone know if IBM's WebSphere trail runs on newer versions of SUSE. I don't need support, just functionallity for now. Per the IBM requirements page, it only supports SuSE 7.3 and SLES 7. I don't have anything that old around. Background: We are going to be moving a production program with applets, servlets and Java applications from Tomcat to WebSphere. As a first step I want to get the WebSphere Trial and see if our code will work as is, or if we have a lot a work ahead of us. (My biggest concern is that our applets are Java 1.3.0 based and I'm not sure if they will talk to a newer applet server or not.) Thanks, Greg -- Greg Freemyer

AFAIU those requirements are primarily for support. Ie. if you try to run WAS on something newer, don't expect to get support if it doesn't work.

Have fun. I don't think that'll be all that easy nor straight-forward. /Per Jessen, Zurich former BEA employee.
