you know if you got such problems why can't you take the stock kernel for right now and get it working that way first. seems to me you are stressing out about these compiles and it may prevent you from fixing your problem. mk

99% of it.
Only done 4 installs but so far I'm pretty damn impressed. Not a single glitch. This is by far the best SuSE release I've ever used. My first being 6.1. That isn't very deep but...

I STARTED with the stock kernel, which was 2.2.18, even though SuSE loaded the 2.4 src tree!!! The insmod ppa wouldn't work as advertized on page 326 nor 322, which started me on my journey.
