test after reboot. LOGNAME and USER have 'jerry' in them. Nothing else does. So I don't know where the SuSE mail list is getting jerry@jlkreps.net as my email address. Both my reply to and my from have the correct address. -- Linux - The choice of a GNU generation -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
My email to suse-linux-e came back normal through the list and not as a bounce. I must say that I should have to reboot in order that HOSTNAME gets loaded with what was set in rc.config by running YaST. None of my prior SuSE distros did this and I've been running SuSE since Sept of 1998. ? Jerry On Thu, 19 Oct 2000, you wrote:

I hate to disappoint you: It's working now since we just changed your subscription to match the envelope sender you really use. This all has absolutely nothing to do with the specific SuSE Linux version you are using. Cheers, Michael -- What we demand is a total absence of solid facts. It's quite simple--your linux box is configured to send out mail as jlkreps.net, and your login account is jerry. So when you send out mail, your default envelope sender address is jerry@jlkreps.net. Correct me if I am wrong, but he can overcome that problem by editing /etc/mail/genericstable to read something like: # # map outgoing sender addresse from foo to bar@domain.com: # foo bar@domain.com # jerry jerrykreps@jlkreps.net and don't forget to update the database... (running SuSEconfig will do it for you...)
